Enjoy a Culinary Trek through Old Town

Meet your guide and the rest of the group outside your first restaurant stop where you’ll learn what to expect during the tour. After enjoying your first tasting, follow your guide through historic streets of Old Town, learning the stories that make this iconic neighborhood what it is today. 

Visit four locally owned restaurants for delicious Old Town classics and some new flavors. Between stops you’ll learn about to the evolution of the neighborhood, from the role played during the founding of the country, to the Civil Rights Movement, to modern day.

End the tour at the last restaurant for a sweet treat, where your guide will be happy to assist in helping you find your way to your next activity.

In addition to the carefully selected tastings and fascinating history, your experience included custom photos of your tour as well as a recommendations resource for some of our other favorite locals spots.

"Joined family from out of town on this food tour of Old Town Alexandria. We benefited from great weather--perfect for the experience--and had enjoyable walk through old town. Stopping at five sites for food/beverage (good beer in my case!), and hearing about the history of many interesting sites such as Christchurch, Carlyle House, Torpedo Factory, etc. It's a great way to introduce yourself to a city or to enjoy time with family. "We truly enjoyed our tour with Mary! As we walked around Old Town, we learned a lot of interesting info about the history of the area, and of each restaurant that we visited. The food tastings were quite varied and each was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the Meggrolls and the breakfast biscuit, and the gourmet deviled eggs and....really everything. This would be a great experience for visitors to DC as well as folks who live there."

An Amazing and fun Experience!

"What a fun day!! This was the highlight of our trip. Great way to see the city, learn some history, and have some delicious food! Our favorite food stops were the fried chicken and waffles and the deviled eggs. Mary was such a fun tour guide and helped make the food and city come alive.
